To pump water from the pond to a filter you need a pump designed for that task. Oase aquamax pump's and the larger promax pump's are just that they can pump waste matter through to the filter where it is dealt with.The outer cage of the pumps strains larger debris that may clog the pump and prevents fish or wildlife being sucked in.The aquamax pumps come with provision for the addition of a satellite unit to draw water from an additional point in the pond, usefull if you have several deep areas.The promax is actually two pumps in one and again can be set up to draw water from two points in the pond, these pumps can also have their flow regulater by remote control so you can turn your waterfall down or off overnight for example.
